The investor EP Wind Project (Rom) Six Ltd, owned by Engie Romania, has won a lawsuit against the Romanian state for the reduction of renewable energy subsidies caused by legislative changes in 2013. The court ruled in favor of the investor and Romania has to pay compensation of around €183 million. The company claims it was affected by the annulment of the green certificate, and the court asked the parties to agree on the amount of compensation. This reflects a wider trend, with many renewable energy lawsuits involving the Romanian state.
