On the eve of the May 1st mini-holiday, on April 30, 2026, fuel prices have increased in Romania. Gasoline has risen by up to 0.15 lei per liter, while diesel has increased by up to 0.27 lei per liter. Thus, diesel has exceeded the threshold of 9 lei/l in all gas station networks. At Petrom stations, standard gasoline has reached 8.72 lei/l, while diesel is at 9.38 lei/l. Compared to the previous week, the increases are considerable, with diesel in some cases reaching 9.79 lei/l, as is the case at Lukoil. The lowest prices are recorded at the DHR station in Cluj-Napoca, where gasoline costs 8.69 lei/l, and diesel 9.72 lei/l. In March 2026, Romania ranked second in the European Union regarding the increase in fuel prices, according to Eurostat data.
