The Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, announced that pensioners with pensions below 2,500 lei will benefit from a special bonus of 400 lei, which will be paid together with the pension in December. This represents the second installment of a total bonus of 800 lei, provided for by a law adopted at the beginning of 2025.

The amount is already secured in the budget and will be transferred automatically, without additional steps from the pensioners. Manole emphasized that this is not a reduction of the amount, but an intervention designed in two installments, aimed at compensating for the lack of indexing the pension point on January 1, 2025. This measure aims to protect the purchasing power of pensioners with lower incomes, considering that approximately 4.6 million pensioners will benefit from this financial support.
