The traffic in the maritime ports of Romania reached 54.5 million tons in 2025. International transport decreased by 34.5%, while national transport increased by 14.5%.

In 2025, the total volume of goods loaded and unloaded in maritime ports was 54.569 million tons, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics. Container transport amounted to 847,000 TEU. Compared to the previous year, loaded goods decreased by 18.5%, while unloaded goods increased by 2.1%.


In transport on inland waterways, the volume was 24.854 million tons, with a decrease of 34.5% in international transport, but an increase of 14.5% in national transport.


Port of Constanța had the highest activity, with a share of 95.8%. The most transported goods were agricultural products, with a share of 67.3% in loadings, while in unloadings, coal and iron ore had the highest share, of 34.6%.


In transport on inland waterways, Constanța and Galați were the most active ports, and Serbia was the main trading partner, with 5.165 million tons transported.
