The National Company for Road Investments has designated IRD ENGINEERING as the winner of the supervision contract for section 1D Joseni-Ditrău of the A8 Highway, worth 30 million lei.

The National Company for Road Investments (CNIR) announced that the Italian company IRD ENGINEERING has won the contract for supervising the design and execution works on section 1D Joseni – Ditrău of the Unirii A8 Highway, with a value of 30 million lei (excluding VAT). The contract, funded from European funds, has a duration of 98 months, including both the period for carrying out the works and the warranty. The role of the supervisor is crucial, having the responsibility to monitor the progress of the works, the quality of materials, and the performance of the execution team.

Section 1D has a length of 14.4 km and includes 21 passages and viaducts, as well as a road junction at Joseni. This is the second supervision contract awarded for the mountainous section of A8, after the one for section 2A Ditrău – Grințieș. Additionally, the Joseni – Ditrău section has been the subject of legal disputes, with previous challenges related to the bidding process. The total estimated value for this section is between 1.02 billion and 1.2 billion lei (excluding VAT).
