The leader of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, criticized the state budget for 2026, stating that it is "right-wing" and favors wealthy people, failing to protect vulnerable categories. He emphasized that, although the PNL is led by Ilie Bolojan, the PSD has a significant weight in the governing coalition and should influence social policies.

Grindeanu highlighted that the Solidarity Package targets pensioners, families with children, people with disabilities, and low-wage workers, not just the interests of the PSD. He announced that the party will submit amendments in Parliament on Monday, requesting 1.1 billion lei to improve social protection measures. Additionally, Grindeanu criticized the dialogue within the coalition, considering it a "sham".
