Fuels have increased in price again on Thursday morning, by 9 bani per liter, after a previous increase of 15 bani.

In Bucharest, gasoline costs between 8.20 and 9.02 lei, while standard diesel reaches 8.51 lei, with premium diesel at 9.14 lei.

Prices vary between gas stations and are influenced by taxes, which account for 50-55% of the final cost.

Experts warn that prices could reach 10 lei per liter if the war in Iran continues.

The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, acknowledged the risks and announced that the Government is analyzing reducing excise duties to avoid such a situation.

In other European countries, drivers are forming queues at gas stations due to fears of rising prices.

COTAR has requested the Government to reduce excise duties on fuels to prevent an economic crisis.
