Following the recent price movements, gasoline costs 9.47 lei/l at Petrom and 9.53 lei/l at OMV, while diesel is sold for 9.53 lei/l at Petrom and 9.59 lei/l at OMV. Profit.ro reported that, for the first time in the last year, diesel has become cheaper than gasoline at Rompetrol stations, after the Kazakh company reduced the price of diesel by 25 bani per liter. The price of standard diesel has dropped to 9.34 lei/l, while gasoline is at 9.38 lei/l. This change is significant, considering that, usually, diesel is more expensive than gasoline in Romania, which is a net exporter of gasoline. The Brent crude oil quota has decreased by 5%, and companies Lukoil and Socar have adjusted their prices, increasing gasoline prices and decreasing diesel prices. Since the beginning of May, spot prices for diesel in Europe have decreased, while those for gasoline have increased. The government has limited commercial markups, and prices can be adjusted only once a day.
