The Petrom gas station on Brașov street in Bucharest recorded on March 12 a increase in the price of standard gasoline by 9 bani per liter, reaching 8.40 lei, and diesel by 9 bani, reaching 8.86 lei.
This represents the sixth price increase in March, following a series of continuous increases in February. Since the beginning of March, gasoline has increased by 44 bani per liter, and diesel by 62 bani, due to tensions in the Middle East. In light of these increases, European governments are taking measures to respond to rising prices that have exceeded 2 euros per liter in some countries. Additionally, the price of oil has risen again, reaching 100 dollars per barrel, despite the release of strategic reserves by the International Energy Agency.
Our region is facing a diesel deficit, exacerbated by Ukraine's consumption, which no longer has any refineries, as well as reduced supply, contributing to rising prices.
