Fuel prices are rising again: diesel is increasing by 9 bani

Fuel prices at gas stations have risen again, with diesel registering an increase of 9 bani per liter, reaching 10.12 lei per liter, while gasoline remains constant at 9.28 lei per liter.

This is the 16th increase since March, following a series of nine consecutive increases in February, caused by the effects of the war in the Middle East. The last increase occurred yesterday, when diesel became more expensive by 20 bani per liter.

The government will adopt an emergency ordinance to declare a state of crisis in the fuel sector, which will include measures such as limiting diesel exports and the commercial markup of oil companies. Additionally, there is discussion about a measure based on the surplus VAT generated by the price increases.

The director of Shell warned that Europe could experience energy shortages before the end of April, with a diesel crisis and a reduction in gasoline supply amid increased demand.
