The European Commission has announced a record €3.66 billion to support the energy transition in nine Member States, including Romania.

Romania is receiving €712.3 million of a record €3.66 billion energy modernization package in nine EU Member States. This funding will support 34 projects, focusing on renewables, energy efficiency and grid modernization. Projects include country-specific initiatives such as improving the energy efficiency of installations in Romania and replacing diesel buses with electric ones in Greece. The fund is funded by revenues from emissions trading.
