The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, announced that he will check the unjustified increases in fuel prices and assured that the price of gas will not increase this winter.

In the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, stated that fuel prices at the pump have increased unjustifiably and called on the Competition Council to initiate official checks. Ivan emphasized that the Petrotel refinery is under technical revision, and Romania does not depend on its production, having the capacity to export fuel. He also assured that gas prices will not increase this winter, mentioning that there is an active capping scheme until March 2026. The Minister highlighted the importance of protecting low-income Romanians who are facing financial difficulties. Ivan announced that he is working on a draft regulatory act to implement sanctions against companies that unjustifiably raise prices.
