The Ministry of Energy, led by Bogdan Ivan, announced that it has drafted a regulatory act regarding Lukoil's assets in Romania, a company affected by the sanctions imposed by the USA. Although the details of the act have not been disclosed, Ivan emphasized that there are no reasons for an increase in gasoline and diesel prices. The Romanian state could take control of Lukoil's assets, including the Petrotel refinery, which is essential for fuel supply.
Nicușor Dan, the mayor of Bucharest, stated that the takeover of the refinery should be temporary and that the process should not be rushed. Ivan assured that Romania has sufficient fuel resources to avoid market disruptions. The regulatory act will be approved by several ministries before being adopted by the Government.
