The initial public offering (IPO) of Electroalfa International, which aimed to sell up to 65.9 million new shares, was closed early on February 6, due to increased interest from investors. Both the tranche for institutional investors and the retail tranche were oversubscribed, with orders for 383 million shares worth 3.4 billion lei in the retail segment, having an oversubscription of approximately 5,800%. This means that demand exceeded nearly 60 times the number of shares available for small investors, who will receive only a fraction of the subscribed shares.
The offering started on February 2, and the funds raised will be used for expanding production capacities, investing in technology, and external expansion. The listing of the shares on the Bucharest Stock Exchange is estimated for the beginning of March, under the symbol EAI. This transaction reflects increased interest in companies in the energy and infrastructure sectors, signaling the availability of local retail capital for IPOs.
