A study conducted by the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies shows that minors' addictions burden Romania's budget by approximately 0.4% of GDP, equivalent to 1.35 billion euros annually. The research, initiated by the "I Love You" Association, founded by Laura Cosoi, and the Association of Large Families, highlights the economic and social impact of the addictive behaviors of children who have dropped out of the education system.
According to the study, minors' addictions are annually associated with tens of thousands of medical cases, legal issues, productivity losses, and difficulties in education and social assistance, which contribute to the erosion of human capital and increasing pressures on public systems.
