Romania's coal production was nearly 1.087 million tons of oil equivalent in the first seven months of 2025, registering a decrease of 2% compared to the previous year. Imports were 61,100 toe, a drastic decrease of 53.5%. According to CNSP estimates, a continued decline is expected both in production and in imports until 2027, against the backdrop of the development of other energy sources.
