The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, discussed the financial difficulties faced by the Bucharest City Hall, emphasizing that the budget is affected by structural problems that limit the efficient management of funds. Ciucu mentioned that, after paying debts to Termoenergetica and STB salaries, the available budget is only 5 million lei. Additionally, the City Hall has debts of 1.2 billion lei to STB and 1.5-1.6 billion lei to ANAF, which further complicates the financial situation. The mayor emphasized that he will advocate for a balanced and predictable budgetary formula in the long term.

Ciucu acknowledged that he took over a difficult situation from former mayor Nicușor Dan and stated that, despite his status as a political independent, he did not receive support from the governing coalition. The budget for 2025 was distributed in such a way that the City Hall received 37.25% of the total, while the sectors obtained 61.25%.
