British Airways proposes a financial bonus system for its pilots, in an attempt to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from aircraft by 60,000 tons compared to 2025 levels. This initiative comes in response to rising fuel prices, caused by the conflict in Iran. Pilots could receive a bonus of 1% of their base salary, and the proposal will be put to a vote by members of the British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) at the end of April.

In the context of the accelerated rise in jet fuel prices, which have increased by 106% compared to the previous month, airlines are analyzing various measures, including raising ticket prices. The price of Brent oil has risen by nearly 5%, and major airlines such as Scandinavian Airlines, Qantas, and Air New Zealand have already announced price increases.
