Private jet operators in Europe are preparing for possible fuel shortages this summer, following supply issues that arose last week at Nice airport.

This situation has heightened fears that airports will prioritize fueling commercial airlines, such as British Airways and easyJet, which have stated that they have sufficient fuel reserves. In contrast, charter flight operators feel more vulnerable, as airports may reserve stocks for scheduled airlines.

At Nice airport, some private aircraft were unable to refuel due to limited fuel availability, but the issue was quickly resolved. Jason Middleton, CEO of Silver Air Private Jets, mentioned that the operator will use the practice of 'tankering', fueling aircraft with larger quantities of fuel before entering Europe.

Additionally, the price of aviation fuel temporarily doubled after the outbreak of the conflict between Israel and Iran, but it has nearly returned to previous levels. The industry faces ongoing risks, as the resumption of deliveries through the Strait of Hormuz will take several months, and this route accounts for up to 40% of Europe's aviation fuel supply.
