Amazon has launched the Alexa+ voice assistant for all users in the US, available for a monthly fee of $19.99, but free for Prime subscribers.

Amazon has announced that its new voice assistant based on artificial intelligence, Alexa+, is now available to all users in the United States, after nearly a year of early access.

This improved version uses generative technologies similar to those of platforms like OpenAI and Google, allowing for the processing of multiple requests simultaneously and acting as an agent that can perform complex tasks. Access to Alexa+ will cost $19.99 per month, but remains free for Amazon Prime subscribers.

Recently, Amazon began automatically upgrading some Prime members to Alexa+, which generated dissatisfaction, but users can revert to the classic version via a voice command.

Alexa+ is part of Amazon's strategy to modernize the voice assistant in an increasingly competitive market.
