Costinel Cosmin Zuleam was caught in Bali, where he was hiding in a villa, after a complex operation by the Romanian Police in collaboration with international authorities. Although he dyed his hair and changed his hairstyle to avoid being recognized, he was identified thanks to location data.

He is now in the custody of the Indonesian authorities, and he is to be presented to a judge for the confirmation of provisional arrest pending extradition to Romania, where he has an arrest warrant. Zuleam did not provide statements to investigators and was assisted by a relative to reach Indonesia. His other accomplices have already been sentenced to life imprisonment and have been caught in Europe.
