A Romanian man was stabbed in an apartment building in Switzerland / Two fellow nationals were arrested

A 32-year-old Romanian man was injured in a stabbing following a conflict that broke out on the night from Sunday to Monday in a residential building in Effretikon, in the canton of Zürich, Switzerland. Two fellow nationals of the victim, aged 52 and 35, were arrested.

Police were alerted shortly after midnight, after a verbal altercation between the three men escalated into violence. During the conflict, one of the participants allegedly used a knife, injuring the 32-year-old man. The victim received medical care, but the authorities did not provide information about his condition.

When officers arrived, the apartment was filled with smoke. Police intervened and extinguished a fire that had broken out inside the residence. It is not yet known whether the fire was connected to the assault.

The Zürich Cantonal Police and the Canton’s Public Prosecutor’s Office I are investigating the case. The reasons for the conflict, the exact sequence of events, and the role of each suspect have not yet been established.
