The DIICOT prosecutors from Buzău detained two young men, aged 20 and 22, following an investigation launched after the death of a 27-year-old man who had consumed high-risk drugs. The investigation began at the end of April when a hospital in Buzău notified the police about a patient in critical condition, diagnosed with severe intoxication. The victim had on him a packet of 'crystal', a dangerous drug, and his condition rapidly worsened, leading to brain death and subsequently, death. Investigating the case, prosecutors discovered that the young man had paid 400 lei for the drugs that caused his death. Given the seriousness of the situation, it was decided to expand the investigation to include the drug trafficking offense that led to the loss of life.
