DIICOT Iași has detained a woman and a man for child pornography and sexual assault against a minor. The judge ordered preventive detention for 30 days.

The prosecutors of the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Iași have detained two defendants, a 35-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man, for serious crimes, including child pornography and sexual assault against a minor.

According to the evidence, on May 24, 2026, the recidivist man created a pornographic material involving a 15-year-old minor victim. He obtained the desired image by positioning himself next to the girl while she was sleeping, and the photograph was taken by the defendant, the victim's mother. The judge for rights and freedoms at the Iași Tribunal decided to place the two under preventive arrest for a period of 30 days, emphasizing the seriousness of the committed acts. This action underscores the authorities' commitment to combating crimes against minors.
