Romania’s National Meteorological Administration has issued a Yellow Warning for strengthening winds, valid on Monday, September 21, from 12:00 to 21:00, in 13 counties in the south, center and west of the country. Wind gusts will reach 50–70 km/h, and at altitudes above 1,700 meters, 80–90 km/h.

The warning covers the counties of Caraș-Severin, Hunedoara, Alba, Sibiu, Mehedinți, Gorj, Dolj, Olt, Vâlcea, Bacău, Vrancea, Vaslui and Galați. The areas affected are Oltenia, central and southern Moldavia, the Banat Mountains and the western half of the Southern Carpathians.

At the same time, the National Meteorological Administration issued a weather advisory valid from September 21, at 10:00, until September 24, at 10:00. It forecasts strengthening winds across most of the country, a sharp drop in temperatures and moderate rainfall.

Temperatures will fall by 8–12 degrees, while maximum temperatures will generally range between 14 and 21 degrees. In the north, center, east and southeast, followed by the rest of the country, showers, thunderstorms and rainfall amounts of up to 30 l/sq m are forecast. At altitudes above 1,700 meters, sleet and snow are possible.
