Emil Boc has announced the start of construction work on the launch shaft for the Cluj subway, a complex project requiring precision and the involvement of over 150 engineers. The metro will have a length of 21 km and 19 stations, and excavations will be carried out at depths of 20-25 meters. The contract for metro line I was signed in 2023 at a cost of €2 billion, with completion estimated for 2031. The contractor is Alstom Transport, in association with Gulemark and Arcada Company.
