A 32-year-old woman from the town of Corni, Botoșani County, was questioned by investigators after she stated that she gave birth to a stillborn girl three weeks ago. Initially, the woman claimed that she buried the baby in a Christian manner at the cemetery, but later admitted that she buried her in the garden behind the house.

The police were alerted, and the body of the newborn was discovered and taken by the Forensic Medicine for examination. The investigation revealed that the woman gave birth at home, and prosecutors continue to investigate to determine the circumstances of the death. Forensic doctors are investigating whether the baby, who was 9 months into the pregnancy, was born dead or if the death occurred after birth.
