Wizz Air has announced the cancellation of a series of flights from Romania, affecting thousands of passengers who will no longer have direct connections to important destinations in Europe. The decision particularly targets regional airports, with routes such as Timișoara – Prague, Berlin, Frankfurt Hahn, Nuremberg, and Basel, which will be suspended starting in mid-September 2026.
Additionally, the Craiova – Naples route will be canceled from October 24, 2026, and the airport in Ghimbav will lose the Brașov – Nuremberg connection. In Bucharest, the temporary Bucharest – Turku route to Finland will be suspended between June 29, 2026, and October 25, 2026, but will be resumed later.
Wizz Air has promised that affected passengers will be contacted and will have options for refunds, company credit, or rebooking on other available flights.
