MFA: Driver of a Tanker from the Republic of Moldova Rescued after Accident in Vaslui

A tanker registered in the Republic of Moldova and carrying approximately 23,000 liters of wine was involved in a road accident near the town of Ghermănești, Vaslui County. The incident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. while the vehicle was traveling toward Iași.

The truck driver, a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, lost control of the vehicle, and the tanker skidded off the road, coming to a stop against the safety barrier. The vehicle did not overturn.

The driver was trapped in the cab and was safely removed by teams from the Vaslui Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. The man was conscious and had not suffered any injuries. He was subsequently handed over to a crew from the Vaslui County Ambulance Service.

The accident resulted in no casualties, and no other vehicles were involved. Authorities found no leaks from the tanker.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău took action through the Consulate General of the Republic of Moldova in Iași. Consulate representatives are maintaining contact with local authorities and are prepared to provide consular assistance if necessary.
