The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informs Romanian citizens who are in or intend to travel to Japan that, between August 7 and 12, 2026, the Okinawa archipelago will be affected by Typhoon Dolphi, which will bring strong wind gusts and heavy rainfall.

Due to severe weather conditions, airlines have canceled flights in the affected areas. MAE recommends that Romanian citizens exercise caution and follow the instructions of local authorities. Consular assistance can be requested at the phone numbers of the Romanian Embassy in Japan, and for emergencies, citizens can call the emergency phone of the diplomatic mission. MAE encourages consulting official websites for updated information and reminds about the "Travel Informed" application, which provides useful tips for travelers.
