The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is warning Romanian citizens in Thailand, transiting through the country or planning to travel there that severe flooding is continuing in the capital and several regions. The situation is expected to persist in the period ahead.

The Foreign Ministry recommends avoiding affected areas and strictly following instructions issued by local authorities. Romanians are advised to consult, before traveling and throughout their stay, the information published by the Embassy of Romania in Bangkok and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In emergencies, Thai authorities can be contacted at 191 for the Police and 199 for the fire department. For consular assistance, Romanian citizens can call the Embassy of Romania in Bangkok at +66 (0) 2240 2524. The diplomatic mission’s emergency number is +66(0)863639118.

The Foreign Ministry also recommends that Romanians use the “Travel Informed” app, through which they can receive travel information and recommendations.
