On Friday morning, November 14, 2025, at 07:32:51, a minor earthquake occurred in the seismic area of Vrancea, Buzău, according to the National Institute for Earth Physics Research and Development (INCDFP). The earthquake had a magnitude of ml 2.9 and occurred at a depth of 118.6 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 44 km NW of Buzău, 64 km NE of Ploiești, 64 km SW of Focșani, 69 km E of Brașov, and 69 km SE of Sfântu-Gheorghe. This year, the largest recorded earthquakes had a magnitude of 4.4, on February 13 in Buzău County and on May 11 in Vrancea County. In 2024, the most significant earthquake was of magnitude 5.4, in Buzău County, on September 16.
