The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced the creation of an emergency cell to manage the water crisis in Prahova County, which affects five hospitals in Bucharest. These healthcare facilities, including the Municipal Hospital in Câmpina and the Voila Psychiatric Hospital, do not have drinking water, and 378 patients are hospitalized. Hospitals in Bucharest, such as the University Hospital and Floreasca Hospital, will have beds reserved for the transfer of patients in case of emergency. Although the situation is one of alert from a public health perspective, it is not considered a medical emergency. The minister emphasized the importance of consuming bottled water and announced the increase of drinking water supply for hospitals. The water crisis was caused by the shutdown of the power plant in Brazi, due to increased turbidity in the Paltinu dam, leaving 100,000 people without water.
