Moldovan police have announced the detention of Vladimir Plahotniuc in Athens, Greece, where he was with former MP Constantin Țuțu. Plahotniuc, who fled the country in June 2019, is accused of money laundering in connection with the 2013-2015 "Bank Fraud" and an arrest warrant has been issued in his name. His lawyers deny the charges, but Moldovan prosecutors managed to seize valuable assets. Constantin Țuțu, a former DPM deputy, is also in legal trouble, accused of influence peddling and fraud.
