Ursula von der Leyen is coming to Romania next week

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is coming to Romania on Monday and is scheduled to be received at Cotroceni Palace by President Nicușor Dan.

She is scheduled to visit Romania and Bulgaria amid drone attacks on ships in the Black Sea, events that have heightened security tensions along NATO's eastern flank, according to Politico.

According to three European Commission officials familiar with these plans, von der Leyen is expected to visit both countries before attending the COP climate summit in Turkey. “At present, this is the most dangerous shipping route in the world,” said one of the officials, who wished to remain anonymous in order to discuss security-related matters.
