Two people died after the car they were in was hit by a train at a level crossing in Iași County. The train was carrying 350 passengers, who did not require medical attention.

A tragic railway accident occurred at a level crossing in the area of the Prigoreni passage, Ion Neculce commune, Iași County. A passenger train, IR 1763, traveling on the Iași – Timișoara Nord route, hit a car, pushing it approximately 150 meters. Emergency crews from ISU – SMURD – SAJ Iași arrived at the scene, where they found two victims trapped and unconscious in the car. Despite the efforts of the medical teams, the two individuals, a man of approximately 50 years, the driver of the car, and a 45-year-old passenger, were declared dead.

The train was carrying approximately 350 passengers, who did not request medical assistance. The competent authorities have initiated investigations to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
