Rail traffic was temporarily suspended on Saturday on both tracks of Main Line 300, between Crivina and Brazi stations, Prahova County, after IR 1657, operated by CFR Călători, struck two people who were in the railway area. The incident occurred on Track I, and traffic was halted starting at 15:34.
The measure was taken to allow the authorities to intervene and carry out the necessary operations at the scene. According to the National Railway Company CFR SA, train traffic on the Crivina–Brazi route will remain suspended until the interventions are completed and all safety conditions for resuming traffic are met.
As a result of the incident, a 73-year-old man died. Police continue their investigation to establish all the circumstances in which the accident occurred, as part of a criminal case opened for involuntary manslaughter.
