A doctor from the UPU Târgu Jiu was assaulted by relatives of a patient, two individuals were detained for outrage.

The incident took place at the Emergency Reception Unit (UPU) of the Târgu Jiu County Hospital, where a doctor was assaulted while providing care to a patient. She became agitated, and the relatives entered the medical space without authorization, one of them displaying aggressive behavior towards the doctor.

The assailant pushed her and threw coffee on her clothes, and the doctor suffered an injury to her lower limb. The hospital management strongly condemned the violence against medical staff and emphasized the negative impact of such behaviors on medical care. The police have opened a criminal case for assault and disturbing public order, and the authorities have discussed measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
