A Romanian caregiver who has lived for several years in the town of Nuraminis, Sardinia, was taken to hospital in serious condition after being attacked in the street on Sunday evening. The woman was beaten with fists and kicks near her home on Via Nazionale, the town’s main thoroughfare.
According to L’Unione Sarda, the victim suffered injuries to her spleen and ribs, as well as a severe blow to the head. A Carabinieri patrol arrived shortly after the incident and began checking the circumstances of the attack.
According to the information available, the Romanian woman reportedly got into an altercation with someone she knew. The attacker allegedly knocked her to the ground and repeatedly struck her. It is not yet clear whether other people also took part in the attack.
The woman’s son tried to defend her but was also assaulted. The Carabinieri are continuing their investigation to identify everyone involved and establish the motive for the attack.
