In the commune of Fărău, Alba County, two men, aged 42 and 52, were arrested after they kidnapped and beat a 17-year-old boy, suspected of repeated thefts from the locals' households.

The incident occurred when the two decided to give the young man a "lesson," beating him and then abandoning him in a field after transporting him in the trunk of a car for a distance of 500 meters. The teenager managed to call 112 for help.

The two men admitted their actions and were detained for 24 hours, being accused of assault and deprivation of liberty. Locals expressed dissatisfaction regarding the behavior of the teenager, claiming that he had stolen from their households, which caused them fear and discomfort.
