Three young people from Timiș County have been arrested for trafficking minors, after a 20-year-old tried to force his 17-year-old girlfriend to prostitute herself.

Three young men aged 20, 21, and 25 from Timiș County have been charged by DIICOT prosecutors for aggravated trafficking of minors. In October 2025, the 20-year-old began a relationship with a 17-year-old minor, whom he tried to force into prostitution at the beginning of 2026.

After the girl refused, he resorted to violence, seeking the help of two other young men to repeatedly beat her. In an attempt to control her, the accused offered the victim illegal substances, such as cannabis and cocaine. Following her resistance, the young men transported her by car to the outskirts of Tomnatic, where they abandoned her, continuing to beat her along the way.

The judge for rights and freedoms at the Timiș Tribunal was notified of the proposal to detain the accused for 30 days.
