On August 3 and 4, two incidents occurred during military flight exercises in the area of the Buzău airfield, according to the Ministry of National Defense (MApN). The first incident involved a 33-year-old parachutist who suffered a fracture during landing.
He was transported to the Emergency Reception Unit of the Buzău County Hospital, where he received medical care and was later discharged.
MApN emphasized that, although parachuting activities adhere to strict safety standards, risks cannot be completely eliminated.
The second incident occurred on August 4, when another soldier was involved in a parachuting incident, remaining suspended from the AN-2 aircraft for two minutes. He managed to apply emergency procedures and landed safely.
The Commander of the Special Operations Forces ordered an investigation committee to determine the circumstances of the incident.
