The incident took place in the area of the aeroclub in Târgu Mureș, where 11 soldiers were participating in a parachuting exercise. Although the weather conditions seemed favorable, the wind suddenly changed direction, reaching speeds of up to 16 meters per second, three times more than the initial estimates.
One of the parachutists was pushed by the gusts of wind onto high voltage wires, where he remained stuck, while another landed on the roof of a metal hall, on the solar panels. Concerned witnesses called 112.
The stuck soldier managed to detach himself and landed safely. Both parachutists were transported to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that their lives were not in danger. The one who landed on the roof suffered a sprain to his leg, while the other remained under medical supervision.
