In the last 12 hours, two earthquakes occurred in the counties of Vrancea and Buzău, according to data from the National Institute for Earth Physics Research and Development (INCDFP).
The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 3.3, took place in Vrancea at 23:58, at a depth of 133.3 km, being located 47 km south of Focșani and 63 km south of Buzău. The second earthquake, with a magnitude of 2.9, occurred in Buzău at 2:28, at a depth of 142.3 km, being situated 57 km south of Focșani and 59 km south of Buzău.
Since the beginning of August, Romania has recorded 19 earthquakes with magnitudes between 2.2 and 4.3, the strongest being a 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Vrancea on February 26.
