Two doctors from the 'Bagdasar-Arseni' Emergency Clinical Hospital in Bucharest have been detained by prosecutors for serious crimes, including manslaughter. A woman, an on-call doctor, and a man, a treating physician, are accused of failing to properly assess the condition of a burn patient, which led to the deterioration of the patient's health and ultimately to death. Between August 26-31, 2025, the on-call doctor failed to recognize the severity of the patient's injuries, while the treating physician did not conduct adequate assessments and did not change the dressings daily.

To cover up the negligence, the treating physician inserted false data into the medical documents, claiming that the patient was dressed daily, although this was not true. He also modified the clinical observation sheet to hide his omissions. The two doctors have been detained for 24 hours, and investigations are ongoing under the coordination of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Bucharest Tribunal, with the support of the police. Searches took place at the hospital as part of this investigation.
