Prosecutors in Bucharest have begun criminal proceedings against a 27-year-old Turkish man accused of attempted aggravated murder and other offenses. On August 13, 2025, he fired an illegally possessed lethal pistol in the direction of the security guards of a restaurant in the Old City Center, without hitting them. He then returned to the premises and fired six more shots, also without wounding anyone. He was detained for 24 hours and then remanded in custody for 30 days.
