Transalpina reopens with traffic restrictions from May 29, 2026

Road traffic on Transalpina, between Rânca and Curpăt (DN 67C), will reopen on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 9:00 AM, according to a decision made by a commission consisting of representatives from CNAIR and DRDP Craiova and Cluj.

During the period from May 29 to June 30, 2026, traffic will be closed at night, between 8:00 PM and 9:00 AM, and from July 1, the night closure period will change to 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM. On the reopened section, the maximum allowed speed is 30 km/h, and access for vehicles with a maximum authorized weight greater than 3.5 tons is prohibited.

CNAIR warns that traffic may be temporarily suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions, such as snow, heavy rain, or avalanches. Authorities emphasize the importance of adhering to restrictions for the safety of traffic on this mountain road.
