The road workers have started the snow removal works on Transalpina, advancing through the snowdrifts on the slopes. With higher temperatures, they have managed to make progress for several kilometers from Rânca towards the Urdele Pass, and traffic could be resumed in a few weeks. Locals and tourists are eagerly awaiting the reopening of the road, which offers spectacular landscapes, and cabin owners are receiving inquiries from foreign tourists about the accessibility of the area. Vasile Mitroiu, the administrator of the ski area in Rânca, promised that he would hurry with the snow removal, considering the attractiveness of the area in summer. Access is prohibited beyond Rânca, and representatives of DRDP Craiova are urging drivers not to enter the closed section.
Animal breeders are also waiting for the reopening of the road to take their herds up to the mountains, considering that Transhumance has been included in UNESCO. However, it will take a few more weeks before traffic is resumed, during which the road signs and markings will be redone. In previous years, Transalpina was reopened at the beginning of June.
