The circulation of 20 trains was suspended on Wednesday morning due to the weather, announced CFR, but rail traffic was resumed around 10:00 between Bucharest and Ploiesti, after during the night it was due to trees that fell over the contact line.

The Bucharest – Ploiesti railway line was one of the most affected by the blizzard, with the interruption of train circulation starting at 5:00, due to fallen trees over the contact network.

Trains connecting Moldova and Transylvania to the Capital have significant delays, some exceeding 250 minutes. For example, train IR 1642 Satu Mare – Bucharest was delayed at Ploiesti Vest due to disturbances. CFR SA reported that, starting at 2:11, there was a loss of voltage on line I, and later also on line II, due to fallen trees. The interventions to remedy the situation were coordinated by CFR teams, which operated with snow removal equipment and intervention railcars. At the national level, several interventions were carried out to ensure rail traffic under safe conditions.
