According to a scenario published by Hungarian journalists, the renovation works were rushed because of the deadline imposed by the Budapest-funded project. The boarding school building needed immediate intervention, but the deadlines were later extended. The tragedy occurred during drainage works when the dormitory partially collapsed, killing two students.
